This CU provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in interpreting Textile and Textile Processes which covers the understanding of how textiles are constructed from fibre to finished fabric. The identification of textiles using industry fabric names, generic fibre names and coloration methods provides a more objective manner of recognising textiles. This knowledge will reduce incorrect fabric selection and allow the merchandiser or purchaser to buy materials without the need of sample fabric.
