Learn to evaluate the fit of garment and pin garment correctly to indicate the necessary adjustments required or desired for alteration. Correct pinning serves as visual instructions to sewing technicians for fuss free and accurate alteration. Be it for personal skill or to further enhance customer service, learning this unique specialized skill will be enriching.

Objectives

Identify fit problems when garment is worn on a human body
Analyse alteration requirements for the garment to rectify problems
Apply proper pinning to the garment to indicate adjustments required
Record adjustment requirements and comments for alteration

Academic Requirements

Local Students
- GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- WSQ ES WPLN Level 4 and above
International Students
- High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis AND/OR
- Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test
English Language Proficiency
- Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
- IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

Assessment Methods

Successful completion of all modules within the course

Graduation Criteria

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.

Awards

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
