The world of fast fashion moves at an incredible pace, where changes in designs and colours can happen at the drop of a hat. This course will prepare you for the demands of the industry, and create a collection within the shortest possible time. The development of the design collection takes a look at both the inspirations and practical considerations that go into a design collection. Conceptualise your collection through runway shows, forecast information, directional trends and consumer demands. Get in touch with the process every step of the way from size specifications to overseeing the samples to the final fruitation of a complete look all within a given scope. From this unique immersive approach, take your first brave steps into the Fashion Industry.

Objectives

Analyse runway shows, forecast information, directional trends and target market’s lifestyle and mindset changes
Conceptualise collection based on forecasted trends/ runway and/or researched target market
Create design boards and production drawings based on forecasted trends and/or on researched target market
Create technical packages for your own collection
Supervise the production of sample garments and/or accessories according to technical specifications and to make amendments if there is any variance

Academic Requirements

Local Students
- GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- WSQ Advanced Certificate OR
- WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above
International Students
- High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic AND/OR
- Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test
English Language Proficiency
- Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
- IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

Assessment Methods

Successful completion of all modules within the course

Graduation Criteria

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.

Awards

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
