The Preparatory Course for Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (International GCSE) is a constitution of four (4) different programmes specifically tailored for international students, spanning a year each.

Laying a sound academic foundation to inculcate essential subject knowledge and skills, the interdisciplinary curriculum delivers an ideal learning platform to prepare students for the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Examination at the end of four (4) years. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be armed with adequate confidence and capacity to cope with the examinations efficaciously.

The Pearson Edexcel International GCSE certification creates an excellent opportunity for students with satisfactory results to further their studies at local Polytechnics, Junior Colleges, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and DIMENSIONS International College. Alternatively, students may pursue their Diplomas as well as their A-Level and BTEC qualifications. For local students who wish to enrol in the programme, DIMENSIONS will seek the Ministry of Education (MOE)’s approval prior to their admission.

DIMENSIONS International College is an Edexcel approved centre for the above programme.

Objectives

The interdisciplinary curriculum delivers an ideal learning platform to prepare international students for the examination at the end of each course. Year-4 students are required to sit for the Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Examination which comprises of the core subjects constituting the English Language A, Mathematics A, Further Pure Mathematics, Physics, and Accounting.

Assessment Methods

Monthly Tests, Quarterly Tests and Term-end Examination

Graduation Criteria

Pass the year-end examination of the respective year to be issued a certificate
International Student must achieve at least 90% attendance rate (ICA Requirement).
International Student must not be absent for more than 7 consecutive days without valid reason (ICA Requirement).
Students who do not require ICA’s student’s pass must achieve at least 80% attendance rate.Our College only accept medical certificates as proof for absenteeism. Any other documents should only be accepted on a case-by-case basis with full justification and be acceptable by ICA.
DIMENSIONS has the right to cancel a class/an intake if the minimum number of students enrolled is less than 10 for any programme per class. Students may enroll into a later intake, if any, or withdraw from course. (For refund, please refer to our Refund Policy).
Students (both international and local) must achieve an attendance rate of 80% and above in order to qualify for examinations.
