• Minimum 3 GCE O-Level passes qualification or equivalent; or

• Higher NITEC; or

Assessment Methods

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business (QCF) is 100% assignment based. Assessment in this level is evidenced by the course work of the learners under the close supervision of the lecturer and/or tutor.  Assignments and assessments are developed based on the rigors of the learning outcomes and criteria set for each and every unit. Should a learner fail to meet the criteria for passing a unit or module at first attempt, a one-time chance will be given to resubmit an evidence of their assignment subject to the guidelines of resubmission. A redo of the whole module shall take place if a learner fails to meet the assessment criteria at second attempt.

Each successfully completed unit will be graded as a pass, merit or distinction.

• Learners who achieve the minimum eligible credit value specified by the rule of combination will achieve the qualification at Pass grade
• Learners will be awarded a Merit or Distinction (or combination of these grades appropriate to the qualification) by the aggregation of points gained through the successful achievement of individual units.

Grading Criteria

• MP: 880 - 919 marks
• MM: 920 – 959 marks
• DM: 960 – 999 marks
• DD: 1000 – 1029 marks
• D*D: 1030 – 1059 marks
• D*D*: 1060 marks and above

Graduation Criteria 

• Pass all required Assessment and assignments
• Students (both International and local) must achieve an attendance rate of 80% and above in order to qualify for examinations

Academic Progression

Upon successful completion of the BTEC Level 3 in Diploma, learners can progress to BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Business delivered at Coleman College (20 months Full-time or Part-time).

As a specialist vocational programme, Pearson BTEC in Business (QCF) will equip learners with practical skills, knowledge and competence necessary for their job placement and career progression.
