Academic Requirements

• GCE “A” levels
• 12 years of general education or equivalent
• International Diploma in Software Development / Web Design/ Business Computing (Awarded by Genetic Computer School)
• English Language Proficiency
  • Grade C6 at GCE O level English or equivalent

Modules Covered

• Advanced Programming
  • This module is designed to provide advanced concept of programming to handle more complex programming projects. It will give you deeper understanding of Object Oriented programming and will introduce you with network programming and multi-layer architecture of enterprise applications.
• Model-View-Controller Pattern
  • This module is designed to introduce students with ASP.Net "Model-View-Controller" (MVC) model. The module is sequenced in such a way that students will be experiencing the ASP.Net MVC, then, go into details about MVC framework.
• Rich Media Development
  • This module focuses on "Rich Internet Application" development using Silverlight technology. It is designed to provide step-by-step examples and walk through for the students to get hands-on experience with rich media development.
• Mobile Platforms
  • This module is designed to provide essential knowledge and skills needed to develop mobile applications on modern mobile platforms. It covers native developments using Android, iOS and Windows Phone SDKs as well as the module introduce a few third-party frameworks for developing mobile apps.
• Professional Ethics and Security
  • This module introduces concepts on ethical use of computer system. It provides a wider perspective when it comes to securing computers as well as that of the privacy of the users. This module also enhances student’s ability to adapt with the various security operations and procedures applied by most industries and computer based organizations.
• Graphical User Interface Design
  • This module is designed to provide the students with a roadmap to the world of interface and interaction design. While students will be learning UI best practices and reusable ideas as design patterns, this module will provide solutions to common design problems that students can tailor to the situation at hand.
• IT Project Management
  • This module is designed to let students acquire the right project management skills needed to better manager future IT projects. IT Project Management module covers basic concepts of IT Project Management, including initiating, planning, controlling, executing and closing projects. It allow student to fully understand the foundation IT Project Management life cycle. This module also shows how IT Projects should be managed, from inception to post implementation review.
• Project
  • Higher diploma students are required to work on graduation project at the last semester. The students have to form a group of four to work on a project. There will be a supervisor assigned to the group by the school or the students may arrange for their own supervisor of their choice. The group, with supervision of the supervisor, has to propose the project to course coordinator. After approval form faculty, students will be assigned unique project group number and they can start to work out for the project.
