Academic Requirements

• 2 GCE ‘A’ levels Pass or Foundation Certificate for Higher Education (FCHE) or Certificate in Foundation Skills (CIFS) or other equivalent qualification deemed acceptable by Informatics Academy.
• Engish Language Proficiency: GCE ‘O’ Level – C6, IELTS – Min score of 5.5 OR, TOEFL (PBT) – Min score of 513 OR, TOEFL (iBT) – Min score of 65 OR, Informatics Certificate in Proficiency in English
• Mature candidates (21 years old and above) with the below credentials may be considered for mature entry on a case-by-case basis:
  • Completed Secondary Education
  • Fulfilled English language proficiency requirement

Modules Covered

• Customer Relationship Management
  • The aim of this module is to provide students with a basic understanding of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) theory and practice. Students undertaking this module should have some knowledge of marketing fundamentals.
• Hospitality Operations Management
  • Hospitality Operations Management describes the operations and procedures involved in managing the front desk of a hotel/lodging establishment. The systems used for such operations will be covered as well as the various aspects of managing the front desk. It will also develop an understanding of how various different departments of a hotel relate to the front office and how they collaborate to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Introduction To Hospitality And Tourism
  • This module provides students with a macro view of the hospitality and tourism industry, its history, structure, transportation, travel, and the various key sectors of the industry. It also covers the fundamentals of the business as well as information on products, procedures, technology and careers in the industry.
• Marketing
  • This module examines the role and value of marketing in today’s increasingly competitive and dynamic environment. The management of the market function will be defined in diverse marketing situations. Marketing principles will be covered and students will learn to analyse, plan, implement and control policies designed to achieve marketing and corporate objectives in both profit and non-profit organisation. This module also introduces the marketing mix elements and students will study how companies use marketing tools and concepts to improve their performance.
• Principles Of Business Communication
  • Business Communication is one of the most important aspects of Business Administration. Students will be taught to present a variety of data in both written and graphical form, and are kept abreast of current developments in communication technology. The principles of business communications will also be extensively covered. The general aim of this module is to help students appreciate, understand and analyse organisation theories, principles, processes, design and structures.
• Principles Of Accounting
  • This module provides students with the basic principles of accounting and their application. It covers the preparation of Trading and Profit & Loss accounts, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow reports for sole traders and limited liability companies, as well as the characteristics of cost behaviour.
• Principles Of Management
  • This module covers the principles and functions of management. Students will learn the key elements in planning, decision-making and significance of different controls required in an organisation. Students will also be able to develop a sound understanding of the process of organising the resources of the firm.
• Tourism Operations Management
  • This module provides students with a macro view of the operations of a travel agency, and the tour guide’s role in the tourism industry. It also covers the fundamentals of the travel agency as well as information on itinerary planning and design, cost, destination research, and the day-to-day operations. Professional software used in the industry will also be taught.

Graduation Criteria

Upon successful completion of all modules, students will be eligible for the International Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management awarded by Informatics Academy.

Upon successful completion of the International Diploma in Accounting awarded by Informatics Academy, the student is eligible to apply for an Informatics Academy International Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
