Academic Requirements

• International Diploma in Information Technology and Communication or International Diploma in Networks and Cybersecurity or Diploma in Information Technology awarded by Informatics Academy or other equivalent qualification deemed acceptable by Informatics Academy
• Engish Language Proficiency: GCE ‘O’ Level – C6, IELTS – Min score of 5.5 OR, TOEFL (PBT) – Min score of 513 OR, TOEFL (iBT) – Min score of 65 OR, Informatics Certificate in Proficiency in English
• Mature candidates (21 years old and above) with the below credentials may be considered for mature entry on a case-by-case basis:
  • Completed Secondary Education
  • Fulfilled English language proficiency requirement
  • 3 years working experience in a related field

Modules Covered

• Application And Infrastructure Security
  • This module focuses on application security, digital security and network security. It includes discussion of various methods that a host could compromise as a result of flawed programmes or network design in the context of today’s business environment.
• Computer Architecture And Data Communication
  • This module provides an overview of computer hardware data communication and networking technology. It aims to inculcate in students the ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer architecture and data communication.
• Discrete Mathematics
  • This module provides students with a key understanding of Mathematical terminology and concepts. Students will be required to apply their cognitive skills in logical problem solving and in making deductions.
• Information Management
  • This module provides students with an interesting blend of both information systems and data centre management concepts.
• Networks And The Internet
  • The objective of this introductory module is to help students manage the revolution by providing a conceptual understanding of standard technologies used today in networking for computer communications. This module is structured along the four layers of Arpanet communication architecture: Application, Transport, Network and Physical.
• Security In System Development
  • This module introduces the essentials of developing secured software in accordance with current industry standards. It leads students through the tasks and activities that successful computer programmers navigate on a daily basis, from reading and analysing requirements, choosing development tools, to guarding against software vulnerabilities and attacks. The module also covers coding with built-in quality and security measures, and follow-up testing once a project is completed.
• Software Engineering
  • This module aims to build a broad-based foundation of the software aspects of computing environments. It also provides an understanding of software engineering approaches. 
• System Intrusion And Computer Forensic
  • This module introduces students to the foundation of system intrusion and computer forensic investigation, looking into the processes and tools used by hackers and computer forensic and investigation professionals.

• Combination of lectures, tutorials and workshop conducted in classroom environment at Informatics Academy campus. Lessons are typically in blocks of 3-hour sessions

Assessment Methods

Students will be assessed through a combination of coursework and project. Coursework may be in the form of class tests and assignments. Assessment methods may vary according to individual module requirements.

Graduation Criteria

Upon successful completion of all modules, students will be eligible for the International Advanced Diploma in Network and Computer Security awarded by Informatics Academy.

Academic Progression

Upon successful completion of the International Advanced Diploma in Network and Computer Security awarded by Informatics Academy, the student is eligible to apply for a Bachelor Degree programme in Information Technology discipline.
