Academic Requirements

• International Diploma in Accounting awarded by Informatics Academy or other equivalent qualification deemed acceptable by Informatics Academy.
• Engish Language Proficiency: GCE ‘O’ Level – C6, IELTS – Min score of 5.5 OR, TOEFL (PBT) – Min score of 513 OR, TOEFL (iBT) – Min score of 65 OR, Informatics Certificate in Proficiency in English
• Mature candidates (21 years old and above) with the below credentials may be considered for mature entry on a case-by-case basis:
  • Completed Secondary Education
  • Fulfilled English language proficiency requirement
  • 3 years working experience in a related field

Modules Covered

• Business Finance
  • This module introduces students to the basic concepts of business finance, an array of finance-related techniques and the operations of financial markets. The module aims to develop students’ knowledge in the key issues relating to business finance. Students will also learn about the sources of finance, capital structure and dividend policy, cash flow and risk. The theories of investment, working investment, market efficiency and financial markets will be covered.
• Business Organisation
  • This module covers the critical understanding of the nature of the management process. It introduces principles and theories of management to actual practice as applied to the functional organisation of business and the effective performance of those who work in it. It covers management of the marketing function in diverse marketing situations and the application of marketing principles to the analysis, planning, implementation, control of policies and strategies. The role and value of operations management, organisational strategies and strategic fit, competitive nature of organisations, differences between business processes and business functions, will be explored.
• Company Law
  • This module covers the general principles of Company Law. Students will develop a critical understanding and apply the legal principles of Corporation Law and Companies Act. It addresses the framework within which a company exists and how a company can operate. They will also gain an understanding of the role of the company as a type of business enterprise and how it functions within the legal and business environment.
• Financial Reporting
  • The application of FRS principles to corporate reporting for external stakeholders of corporation, collection and analysis of data for management budgetary planning and control purposes will be covered in this module. Students will also be taught to prepare financial statements for different types of business and legal regulatory provisions.
• Management Accounting II
  • This module aims to develop a critical understanding in students pertaining to the application of the principles of management accounting reporting for internal stakeholders of corporation. The application of quantitative techniques including limiting factors and profit maximisation will be covered. Students will also be taught the relevant costing principles and techniques used in a wide variety of financial decisions. It explores different budgeting techniques and examines performance measurement and control through detailed variance analysis.
• Information Technology Management
  • The module serves to provide students with in-depth knowledge of the strategic capability of information systems and how the knowledge can be used to assist an organisation in improving their competitive advantage.
• Managerial Economics
  • The module is designed to apply microeconomic theories and methodologies in solving business problems and formulating business policies.
• Quantitative Methods
  • This module provides an overall understanding of how and why statistical and mathematical techniques are used in economic and business decisions. The application of various statistical measures for quantitative analysis of business performance will be covered. Students will demonstrate the ability to analyse, present and interpret statistical data using basic statistical and mathematical procedures.

Graduation Criteria

Upon successful completion of all modules, students will be eligible for the International Advanced Diploma in Accounting awarded by Informatics Academy.
