Academic Requirements

• GCE 'N' Levels Technical, Normal or Academic 
• Less than 3 GCE 'O' Level credits or regional equivalent
• Minimum Year 9 Studies or equivalent.
• English Language Proficiency
  • IELTS 4.5 or regional equivalent
  • TOEFL 475 (Paper based) or equivalent
  • TOEFL 53 (Internet Base) or equivalent
  • TOEIC 405-600
  • Evidence of completion of a certificate course conducted in English

Non-Academic Requirements

• Applicants should be at least 15 years of age at the time of registration

Modules Covered

Students undertaking the Foundation Certificate in Business Administration programme will be expected to complete 3 modules of academic study over 2 semesters.

• Research and Study Skills
  • This subject provides an introduction of a variety of study skills and a basic understanding of the research process. It aims to expose participants to various methods of learning and knowledge retention. Participants have the opportunity to learn how to enhance their reading and note- taking skills, how to deliver a presentation and understand the key components of a report.
• Math & Statistics
  • This course provides a foundation in mathematics to a non-mathematical person and some basics statistics. The students will be introduced to the general principles and given a chance to work with the actual numbers as the essential part of the learning process.
• Fundamentals of Management
  • This subject provides an introduction to concepts and foundations of management. Participants will be introduced to the theory and practice of business management and to consider the contemporary applications of management ideas. Content consist of the role of the Manager, including Planning and Decision Making, Leadership and Motivation, Organizing, Control/Power, Group Dynamics and Organizational Culture.

Assessment Methods

Courses are assessed by a combination of coursework, practical assignments and examinations. Unless otherwise stated, all modules within the Foundation Certificate in Business Administration programme are assessed based on the 30% Exam component with the rest of the 70% based on individual assignments, class tests, quizzes and group assignments.    

Graduation Criteria

Students must pass all prescribed modules in the Foundation Certificate in Business Administration programme with a minimum grade of P (Pass).

Awards

• Foundation Certificate in Business Administration awarded by ERCI.

Academic Progression

Foundation Certicate holders are able to gain direct entry into the Advanced Diploma programmes
