Academic Requirements

• Obtained an overall pass in GCE “N” Level with a least a Grade 5 in any two subjects or pass in TCMHC GCE “N” Level in-house test
• Obtained a pass in GCE “N” Level in Chinese with a minimum Grade 5 and or pass in TCMHC GCE “N” Level in-house test

Modules Covered

• Human Anatomy
  • This module explains how basic human skeletal and muscular systems work as a means to gain fundamental knowledge of massage and meridian manipulation principles. Since meridians cannot be seen by our naked eye, and each person’s body build is different, we need the help of bones and muscles to locate meridians and acupoints accurately.
• Basic of TCM
  • This module covers the essentials of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a comprehensive study of the human body internal organs, Yin-Yang and five elements, and fine blood fluid contents. It also aims to shed understanding on how the Yin-Yang and five elements are related to our internal organs and which internal organ is overworked or damaged when certain symptoms appear in the body
• TCM Meridian Studies
  • This module dwells on the meridian theory, and helps students to be familiarised with the twelve meridians distributed throughout the body, connecting the various organs
• TCM Scrapping and Cupping
  • Students will learn cupping and scraping principles in this module. Cupping, as a manipulation technique, can even out the flow between meridian points, provide “warmth” for casual pathogenic cold, bring about telangiectasia, local congestion, promoting blood circulation, opening sweat pores to enable pathogen to be expelled out. Scraping effectuates blood circulation, dredges meridians, recuperates organs, and promotes detoxification. Scraping and cupping is simple and effective in regulating blood flow in the meridian, adjusting the internal organs function, attaining treatment purpose.
• Authentic TCM Massage Techniques
  • This module discusses various acute and chronic spine, limbs, joints, soft tissue, bone injury, and bone proliferative disorders. These are, namely: various sprain, dislocation, muscle strain, chest stitch, disc herniation, cervical spondylosis, arthritis, Periarthritis, and fracture.
• Massage Techniques for Common Illness:
  • This module aids in the learning of massage and internal medicinal techniques for some medical disorders such as headache, insomnia, epigastria pain, colds, coughs, asthma, colic, high blood pressure, angina, diabetes, constipation, paralysis and so on.
