Entry Requirements

• Age 12 and above

This course is intended for students with very little knowledge of the English language. The courses focus on basic grammar, reading, speaking and writing skills. On completion of the course, the student will be able to listen to and understand simple conversations, read and understand simple articles, communicate clearly but slowly as well as write simple sentences or messages with few grammatical errors.

• End of course examination
  • English Language (written): 70%
  • English Language (oral): 30%

Criteria for Graduation

Complete course and total marks for written and oral must be at least 50% in the Final Exam.

Progression Requirement

• Complete course and Total marks for written and oral must be at least 40% in the Final Exam
• Meet Minimum Attendance Requirement
  • Foreign Student: At least 90% attendance (absence with valid reasons)
  • Local Student: At least 75% attendance (absence with valid reasons)
