Academic Requirements

• Sit for placement test to determine suitability.
• Except for entry into CAE Level 1, students need to submit their IELTS results or take a placement test to qualify admission to the appropriate entry level. Subsequent level advancement will be qualified through his/her exit test results at each level.

• The verb “to be” in positive and negative sentences and questions. 
• Simple sentence structure. 
• Other verbs in the Present Simple tense in positive and negative sentences and questions. 
• The use of question words. 
• The use of adjectives to describe people, places and things. 
• The use of simple prepositions of time and location. 
• The use of pronouns in sentences. 
• Possessives including possessive adjectives and pronouns. 
• Past Simple of regular and irregular verbs in positive and negative sentences and questions. 
• The use of the modal “can” for ability and making requests. 
• The Present Continuous tense in positive and negative sentences and questions. 
• The Present Continuous used to express the future in positive and negative sentences and questions.

• Total marks must be at least 50% in the Final Exam.

• Certificate in Academic English Level 1 (Beginner)

Academic Progression

• Students may pursue to further study in the respective English courses.
• Students have to pass the respective level exit test (by at least 70%) to qualify for advancement to the next level
• Meet Minimum Attendance Requirement
  • Foreign Student: At least 90% attendance (absence with valid reason)
  • Local Student: At least 80% attendance (absence with valid reason)
