Academic Requirements

• Advanced Diploma in Information Technology or International Advanced Diploma in Network and Computer Security or International Advanced Diploma in Database Engineering or International Advanced Diploma in Digital Media Technology or International Advanced Diploma in Business System Development awarded by Informatics Academy or relevant advanced diploma or other equivalent qualification deemed acceptable by University.
• Engish Language Proficiency: IELTS – min score of 6.0 or Informatics Certificate in Proficiency in English

Modules Covered

• Algorithms And Advanced Data Structure
  • The module focuses on Algorithm design techniques; understanding and implementation of efficient data structures. It covers topics such as complexity analysis, data structures, algorithm design techniques, as well as the tractability of problems.
• Computer And Network Security
  • A study of computer and network security and ways that computer systems can be secured. This module looks at the technological, ethical and professional issues involved in securing and assessing the security level of a modern network computer system.
• Computer Networks
  • A study of the fundamental concepts of computer networking and the problems experienced in their design and implementation. Various goals of such systems are discussed and placed into the context of local and wide-area networking. The nature and types of communications protocols typically found in modern computer networks are also studied in some depth.
• Multi-Service Networks
  • A study of the construction and operation of distributed multimedia systems and multi-service networks, that includes the compression, representation, communications and synchronisation of multimedia data streams and multiservice communication requirements for the support of multimedia data.
• Network Construction And Administration
  • The course will provide an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts from systems programming and computer networks to the practical implementation of a small network. The material covered by this course will prepare students for industrial and business challenges that they may face in the industry. This will be largely a self-study course, where students prepare themselves for participation in directed practical.
• Project
  • An extended study of a topic selected from a suitable area common to the fields of the student’s programme, involving the solution of a practical problem. The overall aim of this module is to enable the students to produce a substantial piece of work on a topic of special interest chosen from those laying on the boundary of the studied fields. It is expected that by doing so the students will consolidate knowledge and strengthen the skills acquired throughout their period of study on both fields.
• Software Project Management
  • The module introduces current practices, skills and techniques applied to project management and quality assurance for computing (software) projects.
