This module provides knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in the Fashion Retail buying. It is designed to enhance skills of buying merchandise for retail. You will learn to apply retail buying strategy, how to read and apply OTB plan to appeal to your customers.

Objectives

Understand how to track daily sales by: Category, Brand, Sub Class & SKU as per organisational policies and procedures
Apply sales data analysis to create weekly reports as per organisational policies and procedures
Understand how consumer profiling & consumer demographics create foundation for the product matrix as per industry norms
Interpret how retail seasonal budgets, category planners and assortment planners are created to determine the product matrix as per organisational policies and procedures
Interpret OTB Planning skill to assist supervisor in managing repeat orders and forward planning

Academic Requirements

Local Students
- GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- WSQ ES WPLN Level 4 and above
International Students
- High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basis AND/OR
- Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test
English Language Proficiency
- Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
- IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

Non-Academic Requirements

Assessment Methods

Successful completion of all modules within the course

Graduation Criteria

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.

Awards

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
